The Place For Meditation And Spiritual Healing
Sacred is derived from the Latin root word Sacer which means holy. The definition is connected with God (or the gods) or dedicated to a religious purpose and so deserving veneration. We often say things are sacred to us in a society. One person may drink tea while walking down the street and think nothing of it. Another might sit down with their significant other making tea and consider that sacred. Then for that couple tea isn't just tea.
Ever been to someone's house and they tell you to be careful with that $5 mug that got while on vacation? It’s doesn’t seem so important to you but to them, they put meaning onto that mug. The retreat place in North Carolina makes something special to them. It could remind them of a certain time or empower them to start their day off right. We never know why people choose what they choose to be sacred.
Try it with your next cup of coffee or tea. Sit down somewhere outside and just be with yourself. Feel your butt in a chair or on the ground. Feel your drink in your hand and really taste it when you sip from it. Connect with your surroundings and just be. Even if you experience just a moment of silence you’re doing something right. It will echo throughout your day a sense of peace.
At Sacred Grove Retreat, we create sacred space wherever we can. Whether it be on our trails, the Vortex, our Yurts, or the Labyrinth, we are committed to creating a space where people can sense the stillness of the earth and the freedom of nature. If you have trouble creating sacred space, try it at Sacred Grove. It’s a great place to start and come back and experience it again and again.
